CASA Certified Aviation Medical Examiner

The Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) requires every pilot and aircrew employee to receive an aviation medical certificate that is specific to their job description, this is in order to maintain aviation safety. Aviation medicine is an extremely specialised field, as it requires communication between the aviation environment, human physiological and psychological systems.

It has a specialist subset over a vast area of occupational medicine. Human performance has massive consequences in the environment of flight, this important element is the emphasis of the Aviation Medicine Unit. Therefore the health implications of pilots, aircrew and aircraft passengers is a fundamental concern.

Doctor Peter Herbert at Montville Health Centre is a specialist in Aviation Medicine and is fully trained and licensed to perform aviation medicals in Montville, Maleny, all of the Hinterland and regional areas of the Sunshine Coast, as well as the metro area on the coastal fringe.

Our friendly reception staff are more than happy to answer any questions you might have regarding the different kinds of tests involved in the examination, the expected time of your consultation and assessment and any related costs. They will also be able to let you know how long your aviation medical certificate will be valid for.
